Change Is As Change Does

Change we can believe in starts by changing the constitution. Fix it so a mistake like Obama doesn’t happen again. Do away with this “representative” way of government, it’s over 200 years old! Use what the founding fathers gave you and amend the Constitution and do away with the 2 party system. That’s where the citizens are getting screwed, both the parties are corrupted you will never get out from under this mess without changing the underlying system! Get a Majority rules system where each individual vote is counted and a simple majority makes the decision. I don’t know how to start the ball rolling, but something has to be done! You can’t keep saying the same thing about voting the “bums out” each election time. You just keep getting a new set of bums, not every one is a bum but if you check history there is always more bums than good and in the meantime you are always manipulated!!!

SORRY THIS SOUNDS LIKE A SOAP BOX SPEECH OR IN MODERN TERMINOLOGY A "BLOG" BUT IT JUST KEPT DRIBBLING OUT OF MY 2 YEAR ALCOHOL FREE BRAIN CELLS, WHAT'S LEFT OF EM. .........I KEEP WANTING TO GO WITH THE PRESIDENT'S HEALTH PLAN AND THEN I LEARN MORE ABOUT IT, I REALLY DON'T WANT TO SEE ALL OF HIS PROGRAMS AND IDEAS "FAIL". BUT THEN I SEE, LIKE THE RECENT VIDEO OF CONGRESSMAN ROGERS AND HEAR THE FACTS AND I FALL BACK. WHEN DOES OUR PRESIDENT SEE THE MORALS, ETHICS AND THE PRINCIPLE OF "RIGHT AND WRONG" WHEN IT COMES TO THIS PLAN OR WHEN HE STARTED OTHER PROGRAMS THAT DIDN'T USE THESE PRINCIPLES! BASICALLY I CAN'T GET BEHIND THIS HEALTH PLAN AND QUESTION ALL THE OTHER EXPENDITURES HE HAS PUSHED. THE HEALTH PLAN BEING PUSHED BY HIM JUST DOESN'T ADDRESS THE FACTS. THAT IT WILL TAKE US DOWN THE SAME ROAD THE BRITISH,CANADIANS AND MANY OTHER SOCIALIST NATIONS ARE ALREADY TRAVELING, OUR EXISTING MEDICAL/HEALTH SYSTEM AS BAD AS IT IS AND WITH THE COSTS AS HIGH AS THEY ARE,STILL HAS A BETTER TRACK RECORD FOR SAVING LIVES FASTER AND MORE EFFICIENTLY THAN THEIRS. BUT ONLY IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY TO MAKE IT WORK. GRANTED SOME SOCIALIST COUNTRIES DO WELL IN THE HEALTH CATEGORY BUT THEY HAVE OUTRAGEOUS TAXES WHICH STIFLE FREE THINKING,INVENTIVENESS, NEW IDEAS AND INDUSTRY IN GENERAL. DO WE REALLY WANT THAT? SO THERE IS THE RUB, DO WE ALLOW THINGS TO SLOW DOWN SO THAT ALL CAN PARTICIPATE IN A OVERALL PLAN THAT WILL NOT HAVE THE SPEED NOR WILL GIVE THE INCENTIVES NECESSARY FOR DOCTORS AND SCIENTISTS TO EXCEL IN THEIR FIELDS OR DO WE USE THE SOCIALIST IDEA THAT WE GIVE THAT UP FOR THE SAKE OF THE GREATER GOOD. PAST HISTORY HAS PROVEN THAT WE HAVE MADE MUCH MORE FORWARD STRIDES IN MEDICINE AND ALL OTHER FIELDS THAT HELP HUMANITY WHEN WE PRACTICE THE TENETS OF CAPITALISM, FREE MARKET, FREEDOM IN GENERAL AS WRITTEN IN THE "CONSTITUTION "AND "THE BILL OF RIGHTS"...........IT'S CLEAR TO ME THAT THE GREATER GOOD ISN'T SOCIALIST WHEN YOU REALLY APPLY IT AND CONSIDER THE FUTURE OF ALL. HAD THE PRINCIPLES OF THE CONSTITUTION BEEN CONSIDERED THEN THE USE OF BANKRUPTCY SHOULD HAVE BEEN APPLIED BEFORE SPENDING ALL OUR COUNTRY'S MONEY ON "BAIL OUTS" AND WHY SHOULD OUR GOVERNMENT BE INVOLVED IN ANY WAY WITH THE MANUFACTURING OF AUTOMOBILES? IF WE HAD CONTINUED WITH "TRUST BUSTING" AND NOT HAVE ALLOWED FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS TO GET SO LARGE AND WE HAD CONTINUED WITH TOUGH REGULATIONS ON THE LOAN INDUSTRIES ALL THESE BAD HOME LOANS, CREDIT SWAPS AND THINGS CALLED 'DERIVATIVES' WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED. BACK TO HEALTH CARE WHERE IS IT IN THE CONSTITUTION THAT SAYS WE CAN TAX AND FINE OR IMPRISON THOSE THAT REFUSE HEALTH CARE ! FREEDOM IS WHAT IS MENTIONED THROUGHOUT THE CONSTITUTION IF WE CAN ALLOW THOSE THAT WISH TO DIE AS IS BEING DONE NOW IN SOME STATES, WE CAN CERTAINLY ALLOW THOSE THAT WISH NOT TO PAY FOR HEALTH CARE THAT OPTION! I KNOW THAT IF WE DON'T MAKE THEM JOIN IN A GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE PROGRAM THEN WE WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT IN OTHER WAYS LIKE HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOMS BUT THIS WILL HAVE TO BE PAID FOR BY THE GOVERNMENT BY OUR TAXES, THERE WILL BE NO WAY AROUND IT, BUT MANY OF THOSE USING THAT ROUTE FOR HEALTH EMERGENCIES WILL UNFORTUNATELY NOT HAVE HAD THE BENEFITS OF MUCH PREVENTIVE HEALTH AND PROBABLY BE ON THE SHORT ROAD ALREADY. A GOVERNMENT HEALTH PLAN OTHER THAN WHAT WE HAVE ALREADY, SHOULD NOT BE INSTITUTED. ALL THE INSURANCE COMPANIES COULD BE MADE TO CONTRIBUTE A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF THEIR PROFIT TO A POOL FOR HELPING WITH THE EMERGENCY COSTS OF THE UNINSURED AND MAYBE DOCTOR'S COULD DONATE SOME TIME AT "INDIGENT CLINICS", THERE ARE PROBABLY MANY OTHER IDEAS OUT THERE. WHY MUST OUR LIFE DECISIONS BE MADE BY POLITICAL PARTIES. THE CONSTITUTION PROVIDES FOR CHANGES TO BE MADE, LET US MOVE AWAY FROM THE REPRESENTATIVE FORM AND MOVE TOWARD A MORE "MAJORITY RULES" WAY OF GOVERNMENT. WE ARE BEING RUN BY THE DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS ALL OTHERS LIKE LIBERTARIANS ETC. ARE NEVER BEING HEARD SIMPLY BECAUSE OF OUR "REPRESENTATIVE" FORM OF GOVERNMENT AND OUR POLITICIANS ARE CONSTANTLY BEING BEING INFLUENCED BY LOBBYISTS BACKED BY BIG MONEY AND BIG MONEY INJECTIONS IN GENERAL BY ALL SORTS OF HIDDEN AGENDAS. OUR COUNTRY NEEDS TO MAKE SOME SMALL BUT AGAIN MAJOR CHANGES TO OUR CONSTITUTION AND THEN WE WILL BE GOOD TO GO FOR ANOTHER 200 YEARS...

Change We Can Believe In

If the true voice of the people is to be heard the presidential elections must not be influenced, or as is true now, or dictated by the 2 major parties. If we continue with the present system we will only be given candidates supported by the 2 major parties and those candidates being given to the parties, are in fact, provided by "special interest" groups. I mean candidates provided us by major cash contributors or "big money". In every presidential election in recent history we see this happen. The founding fathers gave us a way to change the Constitution to allow for new ideas. I believe their must be a way to change the presidential election to a real majority rules type of event. Modern technology is being used in every facet of our present life. Except in a few instances, our way of government being one, these new ways have proved to be far more reliable, accurate, and useful. Tell me why we can't find a way to allow everyone eligible to use cell phones, land phones, pay phones, blackberries or hand held instruments of some kind, to make their choices known. I know it can be done some way, anything has to be better than the antiquated way we do it now. Ask yourself were you really happy with the choice of individuals we wound up with to run for the job of president? Wouldn't you have liked to really take part in a vote on who won each debate? Again the new technology phones or computer methods of communication should allow for input from everyone for their opinion on the debates. Presently you are being driven by the "party line" during election season and you haven't even been given any chance to consider other opinions or allowed to voice your own. I would like to offer this idea.

The present election is going to be decided by the candidate that presents a plan that will hit us favorably in the wallet. The present day prices for gas, energy, and food are beyond a lot of our ability to pay. During the past presidencies of Bush1, Clinton, and Bush2 none of them have introduced legislation to foresee the present price situation. I have heard Clinton even vetoed legislation that would have allowed drilling for oil in the ANWAR region of Alaska. It seems to me that during the oil crisis of the 1970's, when I was working for Avis rent a car and trying to keep cars full of gas, the president and the congress all had a chance to make today's mess not so messy. Presently people around the world are protesting over the cost of fuel. The tree huggers aren't going to win this time. The Dems and Repubs haven't addressed or if so haven't followed through on these issues when we had some time. Now things are going so fast the environmentalists are going to be swept away by the people that need inexspensive fuel to get to their jobs and to keep goods flowing at livable prices. I think Newt Gingrich has the best oil/gas battle plan. If we were independently free or almost free of foreign oil this country would be seen as the mightiest on Earth. I'm not the best at figuring things out but it seems to me somebody must have thought of this 10 or 20 years ago. This country has been led by party politics ever since WW2 and future thinking has always taken 2nd place to party politics. During these years the voters have always been led by their respective party. Intelligent forethought and future thinking was only expressed by a few and Independent parties. So the problems seem to stem from partisan wrangling, in other words sheer greediness with no regard to the future. I'm for doing away with the party system. Why not let the people decide what should be voted on and when and how! Why not have general elections on what should be presented for a vote and when to hold elections and how often. Let a plurality of all votes decide all elections. It seems to me we could do away with the fat cat politicos in the senate and congress. We would also do away with those fat salaries and pensions. No more of the same people getting elected over and over again because there would be no jobs for them. Each State would have a few elected Ombudsmen just to see the will of the people was carried out. Then there would no longer be finger pointing, it would be the direct will of the people. I know this country was founded as a republic but that was 200 years ago and the founding fathers also left us ways to change our system if necessary!!!!............................................Fred..............

Life Is Fast

It is such a mix of future directions when our young are given a taxpayer paid education that is very poor compared to other countries. If public education could be upgraded by a child's parents being allowed to participate by way of cash contributions. Then all countries would start to benefit, by just our country producing better educated citizens. The effect of our production of a learned populace will make other countries take notice as to how well and better our nation works. The ,"Tower Of Babel", directionless way of the world now seems to never get much better. Unless we ,meaning all Americans, show the world how it is done. Sorry just 'babeling' trying to figure ways to increase our power and abilities, from the bottom up, to make this a better world for all. ..................FRED

Why is our country giving so much in Foreign aid when all you hear on any news media is that we have so much going wrong here, and it all stems from MONEY???? Foreign aid for a humanitarian reason is fine, but only then if we can afford it. If things are bad here then spend the money to fix our own problems. Did the Founding fathers have anything else in mind than that???Just heeding to this theory,with respect to all our problems, would cure most all matters of the Modern American concern. Pouring all that so called Foreign aid money back into all our problems would surely produce a better way of life here for all Americans and trickle down to all countries in a lot more equal way. No more cash bribes to others for what?? What is it we really receive in return under present circumstances..................Fred

Friends..................Hillary,makes me worry about hucksterism at it's finest by her spouse! Barack sounds too much like a coming of a false god,youthful and inspiring,yet can go to church for 20 yr's and never say or do anything about the pastor's false representations of our country,white men or government.And John Mccain,and John Mccain,and....well he's too old????? What's wrong with 71,most of us will reach this age and I think most of us believe they will be able to make decisions as well as we always did.The key here being decision making,as assisted as always by a bevy of advisors,a Senate and Congress,and Military advisors.Stop Gap checks and balances galore.....................Of the 3 who may soon be seated as our new president,with none of them looking as a standout,after reviewing my comments on the screen in front of me,the standout is ....................John Mccain
